Want to transfer your .com.au, .net.au, .org.au, .asn.au, or .id.au domain to AUH Internet ?
Domain name transfers are free if your domain name is not due to expire in the next 90 days, otherwise domain normal domain registration pricing applies. The registration will extend your current domain registration by a further 2 years from the current expiry date. (ALL INITIAL TRANSFER ORDERS RECEIVED FOR .AU WILL BE FREE. THE TRANSFER CODE SUPPLIED IS USED TO DETERMINE THE EXACT EXPIRY DATE. IF THE DOMAIN IS DUE TO EXPIRE WITHIN 90 DAYS AN INVOICE IS THEN GENERATED FOR THE TRANSFER AND EMAILED TO THE CLIENT, once the transfer has successfully completed the domain will be reserved for another 2 years.)
When you choose to transfer your domain name to AUH Internet, we suggest that you update your domain name DNS (Domain Name Settings) first. If your domain name registrar offers a domain management interface you should login and make changes so your domain name points are our name servers first, to see our name server information please visit our support section.
When the transfer process has begun, you will not be able to make any changes to your domain name until transfer is completed, transfers usually take 4 -7 days to complete.

- Make sure your domain name has your current email address associated with it as the domain transfer initiation email will be sent to that email address, you can find this out from the company that you originally purchased your domain name from. You can usually update your email address from their domain management section or by calling them.
Before you start a transfer of your .au domain you must have the domain transfer code or EPP code, please get your code here http://admin.auda.org.au/passwordMail/PasswordMail - Go to our domain transfer page here and complete the transfer form.
- Approximately 12-24 hours after submitting the transfer form you will be sent an email to the domain registrant email address requesting permission to initiate the domain transfer. You must click on the link in that email for the transfer to start, if you do not click on the link the transfer will not start.
- Domain transfers can take up to 7 days to complete from the time you click on the link in the domain transfer initiation email. No changes can be made to your domain name whilst the domain transfer is in progress.
- When the process is completed you will receive an email from AUH Internet confirming that the transfer of your domain was successful. If you don’t get this email the transfer did not complete and you will need to contact us to find out why.

Please make sure your domain does not expire within the next 7 days, if it does you will need to renew your domain name at the current registrar then complete the transfer request below.

The cost of the transfer is the same as the cost of new domain registration, however the transfer will extend the registration of domain name by 12 months of current expiry date.

- Turn off registrar lock at your current registrar. Domain lock prevents your domain name from being transferred to another registrar. It was designed to prevent domain hijackers. Most of the time, domain lock is off by default.
Before you start a transfer of your domain name you must have the domain transfer password. Many registrars will refer to this password as an "auth info" password, or an "epp password” you would have got the transfer password when you originally ordered the domain name, if you don’t have the transfer password, see below.- Go to our WHOIS page
- Type in your domain name (& then enter the text shown in the image for security)
- Find the information described as "Registrar name", or "Registrar of Record"
- Contact this company for information about retrieving your domain password.
- Go to our domain transfer page here and complete the transfer form.

Change of Domain Registrant / Owner
Please note that the following applies if you have sold your company or changed your company name. You do not need to change your domain ownership for any other reason.
com/net/org/info/biz Domain Names
There is no charge to change the registrant of .com/net/org/info/biz Domain Names. Simply log in to The domain name management and you can update the registrant details from there.
.au Domain Names
Change of ownership costs $150 which will reset the licence. This effectively means your 2 year .au registration period starts from the day it's reset, and any previous registration period will be lost.
You can update the details of a domain name from our domain name management section, however you can not change the company name or ownership from the domain section.
Conditions under which a the licence (ownership) of a .AU domain can only be transferred
- The Registrant sells part or all of their business operations or assets to the proposed new Registrant, and the Deed of Sale includes the transfer of the domain name licence.
- The Registrant assigns part or all of their intellectual property rights to the proposed new Registrant, and the Deed of Assignment includes the transfer of the domain name licence.
- Where the Registrant is a legal entity, the Registrant is liquidated or enters into administration and the liquidator or administrator authorises the transfer of the domain name licence to the proposed new Registrant
- The Registrant and the proposed new Registrant are legal entities belonging to the same group of related entities, eg. where a parent company transfers its domain name licence to a subsidiary.
- The Registrant is holding the domain name licence in their capacity as an agent of the proposed new Registrant, and at the time of registration the Registrant had entered into an agreement to transfer the domain name licence to the proposed new Registrant at a future date, eg. where a web designer, ISP, lawyer, accountant or other service provider registers a domain name on behalf of a client.
- Where the Registrant is an individual, the Registrant dies or becomes insane and the executor or power of attorney authorises the transfer of the domain name licence to the proposed new Registrant.
- A competent arbitrator, tribunal, court or legislative body orders the Registrant to transfer their domain name licence to the proposed new Registrant, eg. in the case of a proceeding under the .au Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP).
- The Registrant has entered into an agreement to transfer their domain name licence to the proposed new Registrant in settlement of a dispute between the parties, and the Deed of Settlement includes the transfer of the domain name licence, eg. where a trade mark infringement dispute is settled out of court.
- AND if the proposed new Registrant is eligible for the domain under auDA policy.
Registrant Name Change
You can change the ownership of all domain names easily, with the exception of .AU domain names. .AU domain names cannot be freely marketed or sold.
You will need to fill our this statutory declaration form and fax it back to us.

Before you start a transfer of your .au domain you must have the domain transfer code or UDAI. The UDAI is a unique code (combination of numbers and letters) which acts like a key and allows you to both update, and transfer your .nz domain name. You would have been issued with a UDAI when your domain name was registered, or more importantly, you can generate one by logging into your current Registrar site and requesting a new UDAI be emailed to you. UDAI stands for: Unique Domain Attribute Identifier. - Go to our domain transfer page here and complete the transfer form. The second step will ask for an EPP code, this is where you enter your UDAI.
